Sara Menon

Profile

Draftsman

She was born in 1985 in Palmanova and lives and works in Aquileia, in the province of Udine. She specializes in the restoration of paintings and wooden sculptures in Mantua, a profession that continues today, but also continues to experiment with other forms of art such as painting, sculpture and illustration.

Her passion and activity as a naturalistic and scientific illustrator began in 2002, when she collaborated with the coroner Gianpiero Ceci, creating a series of anatomical-surgical tables to accompany her publications, mainly related to the field of obstetrics and gynecology.

In 2010, through the European Institute of Design in Milan, she had the opportunity to meet and get to know the illustrator Massimo Demma, which allows her to refine the method and painting techniques used in scientific investigation and in the rendering of natural data, as well as further knowledge in the field of naturalistic illustration.

She has the opportunity to publish some naturalistic tables for the Il Prato publishing house in Padua and for Christophe Chomant éditeur of Rouen, France.

She has collaborated with the magazine "Mente & Cervello" and with the Italian version of "Scientific American".

Her collaboration with the United Nations and the English Jersey Post was important for the creation of stamps depicting endangered animal species.

She made the entire VII ed. of the volume of "Applied Histology and Cytology of Monesi" and participated in the creation of an atlas of Physiological Anatomy for the publishing house "Piccin Nuova Libraria" of Padua.

Winner of the "Salamon Gallery" award in the 2020 edition of the "Be Natural Be Wild" competition, she has participated in various national and international exhibitions.
