Giusy Rampini
Profile
Painter
Giusy Rampini (Gardonia Val Trompia 1973) devotes her artistic practice to depicting both native and exotic wildlife.
Although self-taught, over the years she has honed her talent by attending courses taught by the painter Adriano Grasso Caprioli, experimenting with techniques such as oil, tempera and fresco. She then completed her training by studying engraving at the Il Bisonte International School in Florence and sculpture at the Santa Giulia Academy of Fine Arts in Brescia, technical disciplines from which she draws inspiration and techniques to lend three-dimensionality and power to the painting with which she sketches each subject she portrays.
Over time, she developed a recognisable style, combining direct observation, sensitivity and an essential palette of warm, earthy tones. Her work seeks to convey the strength, fragility and depth of animals, often isolating them from their environment to explore their essence beyond their appearance. The use of chiaroscuro highlights the volumes and presence of the subjects.
Her works have been published in various magazines and used as book covers, helping to establish her position amongst Italian artists working in wildlife painting.
