The artwork is intended to represent, in sculptural form, bees' communication and orientation dance and the interpretation of a honeycomb.
Jessica Carroll has dedicated much of her attention and study to this theme for over twenty years through numerous other artworks with different materials, shapes, and variations.
Listening to nature has also led her to listen to the materials she has approached over the years—marble, ceramics, bronze, Plexiglas, etc. etc.
The oeuvre was initially planned with the bas-reliefs in a hexagonal shape, but in the course of the work, the author preferred to round them off for more excellent aesthetic softness. A choice is supported by the most up-to-date studies, according to which bees do not form hexagons but circles that take on a square shape over time due to heat and physical laws.
